EVERY chaperone, youth minister, parent and every adult volunteer MUST be in full current compliance with the Safe Environment/Child Protection requirements of their Diocese, and MUST submit the following documentation PRIOR TO the Retreat. Those arriving at the ABLAZE 2022 Retreat who have not submitted the following documentation will NOT be admitted to the Retreat. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Parents are responsible for finding chaperones for their child. Chaperones must be adults age 21 or older. Each minor, age 17 and younger, must have a designated Chaperone. There must be at least TWO Chaperones with every group that has between 1 to 14 minors. If you have more than 14 minors in your group, you must have at least one additional Chaperone for every additional 1 to 7 youth in your group. (Group with 1 to 14 minors = 2 Chaperones. Group with 15 to 21 minors = 3 Chaperones. Group with 16 to 28 minors = 4 Chaperones. Group with 29 to 35 minors = 5 Chaperones. Group with 36 to 42 minors = 6 Chaperones, Groups with 43 to 49 minors = 7 Chaperones, etc.)
Any participant who is a minor, age 17 and younger, MUST HAVE:
1. a designated chaperone
2. written permission signed by a parent/legal guardian if planning to leave the ABLAZE 2022 Retreat during Retreat hours. The Chaperone must accompany minor to the sign-out monitor, and parent must come inside to sign out your child.
NOTE: At the end of the Retreat each day, parents who are picking up their child/children must come inside the gym to pick up youth.
